What are the divots to the right of Kennedy? They are in almost exact same place. I have found 5 of these from three different boxes of halves. I was wondering if this was from hardness testing. Thanks in advance.

As requested here are the reverse pics (I think the third and fourth need switched around)

Pits do not appear to be indents for the Brinell Hardness test for metals.
The Brinell test is done with a spherical point tip of standard diameter under a standard load. The resulting diameter of the pit is measured and compared to the Brinell Scale for hardness.

The shape of the pits in the pictures do not appear to be spherical.

As I understand it, hardness tests are performed on dies, not coins, so the mark would be raised on the coin instead of an indentation.

Can you post up pictures of the same area of the reverse side for each coin? (hopefully in the same order)

The metal hardness for a die may be known,
but would not be tested after the die has been manufactured, because the test pit would always show as raised pimple on every coin that was struck from it.

My theory: those are a roll hunter's marks. Many hunters use marker or paint to mark groups of coins that they've already searched. Some, I've seen, go with a more permanent mark. I'd bet that's what you have here
