Hello fam, so I recently acquired this dime as change and it was unusual enough, I felt I should keep it. So the hole in the temple I can guess, but the rest of the damage I am not sure. Is it a mint error? I know it's level with the rest of the coin.
I agree, post mint damage. Perhaps acid from a soda or even spilled coffee? Some sort of mild acidic chemical reaction. Maybe buried in soil for a bit?
But heated with fire will alter a coin when it get real hot, like a house fire: Note the bubbles? Your coin appears that it did have a bubble, but was flatten partly. Not a premium for these, they are just damaged coins.
