No wear, but enough small nocks and scratches to be MS-62.

AU58 Nice lustre. I don't see any of the jewels on the lowest band of the crown and there appears to be some wear on the earlobe.

DBM, there are no jewels in the lowest band of the crown of this coin.
Very nice example.

Take a look at this one on ebay; 303968276283The jewels are quite evident. That is what an MS example should look like. Silver101 if you are trying to build a notable collection of GeoVI Newfoundland coins do not settle for less.

Looks AU to me as well . I would be patient and wait for a more pleasing one to come along.

Perhaps poor lighting but I just agree with DBM. I can't see any jewels in the lower band. AU58

Thanks, DBM. I've never even noticed those jewels before. Time to go relook at what I have!

@TheDeductable - me neither! I've been staring at NFLD silver for several years now and have been somewhat flummoxed by the George VI 5c and 10c. Whats the discriminating factor between good and great? The either pearls in the upper band, which are so key to earlier coins, are almost always there. Those delicate little things in the lower band are clearly key. Many thanks to @@DBM. Incidentally, I bought that coin that you posted...

Siler101, I'm floored by this here today. I can't believe my eyes failed me there lol
Anyway, I see the 10 cent coins of the same type also have the jewels in the lower band of crown. Can't wait to get my loupe out later, but I'm afraid of what I might not find...
