purchase as unidentified coin , possibly modern ,nearly unreadable due to verdigris etc , scratch tests positive to silver , 18 mm diam , 3.7 g , 2mm thick , seen a few like it but not the same , thanks in advance for any help , dave

It doesn't look right. Very mushy. And these are usually bronze?

It has the look of a cast copy, but I have no idea why would anyone copy a (common-ish) bronze coin in silver.

purchased on line from coin dealer in uk , has been in buisness 120 years , as I said was unreadable covered in verdigris scale etc , thanks for your reply dave

I agree with @ks that there is a ground edge, most likely to hide a casting seam. Definitely try to get your money back on this one.
