Very hard to tell from the photos. I can't see any of the telltale parallel scratches that usually indicate a harsh cleaning, but the coin may well have been dipped at some time to remove surface dirt. I'd probably grade this sixpence at about VF, looking at the hairlines between George VI's ear and the parting: they are normally quite distinct on an EF coin and almost gone on a Fine coin, and this one is halfway in between. I suggest you send a PM to Princetane as he's our resident NZ coin specialist!

This is a nice coin!

Sorry NumisRob, you have it wrong, can't see any obvious cleaning and I can see lots of detail - not certain as the coin is in a holder and it seems to have a reddish darkened filter. Good lustre in parts and can only see very light rubbing on cheek and eyebrow.

I will go out on a limb and say this is EF/gEF - 1937 is a good year to find high grade examples.
