it ain't the big one, but I've always liked this die and well, honestly, it would be a legit coin to fill that annoying "1955 doubled die" hole in those Whitman albums. Plus it's one the Frog can see after that last 1945-S I put up!!! Found it in a roll last night, along with 3 nicer-looking DDR-001 coins which also have the obverse 1DO-001 (CONECA does not recognize that DDO for some reason). 1955 Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die - DDO-003

I like the idea of plugging that Whitman '55 DD hole.

Would you call this one the "poor man's" DD, TB?

Great find. Someday I'm sure you will get the big one at this rate.

Thanks so much for all the great comments! As for this being a poorman's DD, no, it is not. That is a very clear secondary 5 due to Die Deterioration. It's very common, and obvious, and does not show on this coin. As for getting the big one, I've posted mine previously, and it's quite nice http://goccf.com/t/389020&SearchTerms=1955,fs-101And nice to know posting coins helps others learn what's out there and what to look for. It's mostly why I post.
