Well, I'm pretttty sure I did, anyway.

Found-My-First-Wide-AM!

Found-My-First-Wide-AM!

Found-My-First-Wide-AM!

Now, I'm no expert on this but I'm pretty sure that is Machine Doubling on the AM, right? And I would know this because the design is the same size with no added thickness, right? (Sorry.. am just learning about these things and would like to reaffirm what I think is right.)

Otherwise.. is there anything I can do to clean her up a little? A friend suggested putting it in some soda overnight but I didn't like the sound of that.

Thanks!

That is what it is supposed to look like! Great find!! I wouldnt clean it cause it would not add any value to it at all! 1998 is a tougher year for the 3 Wide AM, with the 99 being the hardest to my knowledge and 2000 being the most common. I always flip over those three years when I get change, cause you dont need a loupe to see this error. I would think about getting it in a holder. I see some corrosion on your blow up view, so try ANACS. They may not even make mention of it.

Yep, that's a Wide AM with MD. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THIS COIN! My God, if you put it in "soda" it will be completely ruined....just leave it the way it is and put in in a 2x2.

NEVER USE SODA ON A COIN!

Nice Find! I still havent found a 98 or 99 WAM yet.

Anyhow, I'm sure this has been mentioned before here, but I'll say it again. Another way to tell these WAMs from the CAMs is the amount of space between the FG (designer initials) and the base of the memorial on the reverse. A wide gap is a CAM, and a close gap is a WAM. Ive found a couple that I just couldnt quite tell if it was a wide or close, and the gap between the initials and the memorial will help confirm if there is any questions as to CAM or WAM.

What is a Wide AM? I have been looking through some rolls, but I am not sure that I know exactly what I am looking for.
