It is indeed a dime. It's been flattened akin to a railroad coin.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a badly damaged dime and barely noticeable at that. It did not leave the mint in this condition. It has been flattened by some means of PMD.

A very flat dime it is.. Not by a train - as it would have been elongated much more. It is pretty cool to look at though.
