I pulled these out of a junk box today. I think that they are Chinese and possibly medieval. Can anyone help me ID these please? Also, I think that at one point someone had glued these to a board or some other sticky, gross substance affixed itself to the reverses of these coins. How would you recommend that I resolve this situation? Acetone? Any help would be appreciated!

I believe they may both be from Annam (present-day Vietnam); the one on the right certainly is. You should find them listed in the 1800's or 1900's Krauses. I don't have my books with me here at work, but I'll look them up if no-one else has when I get home.

If it's sticky, then yes, acetone should get rid of it. But Annamese cash coins are often green; this is simply how they come. If acetone does nothing to your green goo, then it's just normal "jungle patina".

Sap- Thanks! I actually think that I may have now IDed the one on the left. I think it may be a Phan (KM# 169a.1) from 1802-20. But I must admit that I still need help with the larger one on the right.

Update: I just found the one on the right. It appears to be a 10 Van from 1907-16 (KM#652). Very interesting coins. Thanks again for the help, Sap.

Yep. That's the ones.

Glad to be of assistance.
