Good evening. This coin was in a coin roll of new 2021 quarters I got in early spring. It was completely chocolate in color, but now there are areas of purple, brown, green and silver in color. (Not insinuating its silver, just in color. The fields, and actually the whole coin display what APPEARS to be numbers and lstters. Possibly an annealing issue? Bottom line is I dont know, thats why I'm putting it out here for the people with actual knowledge about such coins in hopes of some "closure" for me because my eyes have seemed to cross from looking at it for months, and seeing things my mind is making me see. It weighs 5.70 grams, well within tolerance. Here are some images.Thanks...

that curved dark spot under 'Trust' looks like another coin spent a long period of time just resting on it and staining it. maybe this coin spent some time in a cup holder?
either way, I sure like the look of it - it looks antique to me with that patina on it.

I wouldnt think it could have possibly spent enough time in a cup holder to cause staining. I got in approximately in May, and it was with new 2021 Quaters in a roll. I mean, I wouldnt think so but anything is possible...

My thought is a cup holder coin also. Also, too many photos.

@skip, the only thing that I would add is that the arcuate scratches across EPU might be from a rolling machine.

Spence I agree with you regarding the scratches and also I edited this post five times or so because I would click the one photo that is showing four times and every time it kept posting four of them and I don't know why but I apologize for the repetition of so many photos and images

Yep and please don't stress about the pics. When you re-use the same file name for different pics, the system will just use the most recent pic in all cases. That might be your issue. We are all learning here!

Spence thank you my friend. I see people critiquing posts more and more rather than commenting on the actual topic. Oooh well. Thanks again...
