Hey guys you think you can give me a grade on this 1917 it does have like that big gash on his cheek and nose so I know that's going to bring the grade down thank you coin community

I'll let the pros do the grading, but the big thumbprint on the reverse is a distraction & a detractor.

From everything I have read wear should show on the ear and jaw and I don't see wear on jaw (but I am half blind)
If the color is correct and I know there are others far, far more experienced than me, but it's hard for me to see how an AU coin from 1917 can stay red to red brown. I personally like the coin and say ms-63 red/brown. MS-63 says coin can have several contact marks and a couple more distinct marks and numerous scuff marks. The problem here is I think all these coins are awesome and most on here are conservative (and with good reason) Good luck
