Congrat merclover!
These are still available in larger lots, but its getting harder and harder to find, finding one above XF is like needle in a hay stack.

Mine isn't near XF, I'm just grateful I have one at all. The Philadelphia mint overdate is more obvious to spot, so that will be much tougher to pull out of the wild.

5th Edition CPG doesn't have either of the 1941 over-dates. Just some DDO's.Correction, they have both, but list them after all the other 1941's. The D version if early die stage and you can still see the middle part of the 1 between the 2 faintly.

Quote: I imagine you now going through the rest of your 300 Merc's, huh? I never tire of looking through Merc's! The problem now is the high price of silver limits obtaining too many new coins, but I'm always on the lookout for more. I've said it before and I'll say it again, in my opinion, Mercury dimes are the most beautiful coin the US has ever made! While reading up on this 42/41 overdate, I read there are several RPMs that are considered "rare" as well. I have several of them (not in the best condition), so maybe I'll post them ( in a separate thread, of course).
