Can you please help me with this quarter? I've had it for a while now and decided to take another look - I'm still scratching my head. More than likely it's PMD but the gold I'm seeing is throwing me off.

Environmentally stained/tarnished, throw is a touch of gold or yellow paint/glue, and you have a numismatic post mint damaged coin that no one wants to touch without a tetanus shot.

@tell, well the date starts with 19. Unless it is silver, then I agree that it is a spender. Can you see the copper layer along the edge or is it all silver-colored?

To satisfy your curiosity (in part), I'd suggest soaking the coin in pure acetone for a couple days (in a closed container). Won't do anything for scratches and dings, but could take care of the crud.
