Idk is it drilled or welded on? If it's super glued on you could separate the two pieces without harming the coin:p

I think that the loops are generally brazed on, but a close-up on that part of the edge would help us to figure out the method for attachment. Also, if the chain is silver, then that should add to the value.

Personally I like it, even if the method of attaching the coin. Destroyed the value I think it's a nice piece. I wouldn't mind a necklace with a nice coin attached.

I looked up the chain manufacturer . John F Sturdy and company known for quality watch chains which is of ocurse separate from the coin. Could be white gold . I'm going to investigate ..

@westy00 it would make a large difference in value knowing what the chain is made of. A simple check to see if it's magnetic would rule out a lot of different metals including steel.

Somewhere on the chain, in tiny numbers will have what kind of silver alloy it it and maybe what country. It could be 925, 920, 900, 800, 600. It a nice chain that would be a better fob if the token wasn't attached. The token is probably ruined but had little value anyway.
