Yes, it's too much.

Based on the photos, I strongly suspect the originality of the surfaces. Either way, the best grade it'd see in a slab is G4 (rim and hair wear limit it). That puts the value about $150 less than the price you mention. A PCGS G4 went for $446 at Heritage two days ago.

I got an ICG (no problem) F12 for just a little more than that.

I'm glad I asked. I have an awful time grading from photos. Thanks for the input.
Rest in Peace

I got my PCGS VG-8 for about $550 incl. shipping which seemed like a pretty good deal. Most I see go for around $625-$650. That being said, it does look possibly cleaned.

I would ask you, what is the grade the person you are thinking of purchasing this coin from giving you?. I would also ask you to think about why you want this coin, the year and scarcity? In other words, do you like how it looks, because that price is not that far off and in "my opinion". This is a rare date for the Morgan series, and if you like it, go for it.I would imagine you have researched the date and seen auctions end and know the price of these coins ie: the grey sheet prices, the Red Book guide for U S coins, etc. This Morgan like most others has gone up in value in the last few years alone, that said I am not telling you what I would do, I am saying if you like the coin, do what you feel you can live with, after all you will be looking at "HER" for a long time, if you collect and save your coins.
Either way, good luck and enjoy the hobby!!

Thanks all.

I have been searching for this coin for a while. Maybe I need to keep looking. I have more success using a loupe to view coins, my recent poor eyesight makes it tough to grade from pictures which leaves me to choose between graded PCGS or NGC graded coins sold online or coins I can hold in my hand at shows, etc.

Thanks morgans dad for the sharp insight. I do like this coin and I might pay a bit too much for it, and now I won't feel so bad about it
