So I saw a post yesterday about what looked like a crack around the rim of his 1974 D Nickel, which hours earlier I had also noticed on one I had collected that day. That just happened to be the 3rd most interesting thing about the coin I had though.
First my attention was on the appearently missing Bridge of Jeffersons nose. If not for the strong presence of his nose and brow, I would assume common wear and tear, but missing also is most neck detail and a portion of his hair towards the back of his head, yet details in between these spots are sharply defined.
Secondly, on the reverse, a die chip near the first O of Monticello caught my attention and pulled my focus to the underside of the building itself, which seems to have a very wide 'shadow' lining the bottom, giving the appearance that the entire building is kinda floating to my perception.Vertical edge wall lines are also overly sharp giving a very 3D type appearance.
I hope my pictures capture what I'm trying to describe. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My bad, pictures did not come out well at all, 48mp camera not recommended for 300kb uploads, and I have no idea how to use the "optimizer" here lol

. Looks like an over polished die issue and circulation wear, also a few too many photos.

Thank you for the reply John, that is basically what I was hoping. Reverse just has me a bit worried as I'd prefer to avoid any corrosion issues if possible!
My apologies again on the photos, less in the future for sure! The adding photos tutorial on here is perfect too!

Just curious, why were you hoping for over polished dies?

I actually like them, like this one has Jefferson looking pretty wild, and they tend to be noticeable without a scope. Doubled Dies can be really tough on me, as I have double vision already needing correction lol, so until then at least, it is easier for me to see something missing than something extra :)

Feeder Finger Damage altered the die.

When polished to remove the damage, then it is now a die polishing victim.

Now punching out coins like this until retirement.
