Is this an error , found today in my pocket. When I looked closely the letters are part of the deformation. I also notice punch outlines (half circles) any value to this coin ? I presume 2017 with glow in the dark but normal coin. Date is damaged.

That coin looks to have been intentionally damaged. To me it looks like the displaced metal is overhanging the rim.

Damaged after it left the mint; so just PMD unfortunately and not an error

It is a damaged Toonie, it didn't look like that when it was struck,
worth 2 dollars.

Belt sander damage while rotating the coin. Note the burr on the edge mentioned earlier. Spend it.
