The image is not great but I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on why the y looks more like a v. When I placed two 1935 pennies next to each other, the difference was apparent but perhaps it from damage and not necessarily an error?
Contact marks can leave incuse marks on coins. Die polishing can reduce the fields, also reducing height, width but neither creates a premium for the coins. So circulation damage and die events don't increase the value. Just a normal coin.
