The irregularity of the flan suggests to me that this predates 1600, but I could be wrong on that point. Also forgive me if I have the orientation is all fouled up, I simply can't tell which end should be up with this one. About 15 mm across with a weight of 2.48 grams.

Yes, Ottoman, Mehmed bin Murad (i.e. Muhammad II), Adrana (Edirne) mint, possibly dated (8)67(?). Similar to Valentine p. 14, 31. Mehmed is the Ottoman Turkish version of 'Muhammad'.

In the first photo I read clockwise from 4h, Muhammad bin Murad khan 'azza nasrahu ("Mehmed son of Murad khan, may his victory be glorious") with what may be the numerals (8)67.

The second photo reads from 12h, duriba Adrana khallad mulkahu ("was stuck at Adrana, may his kingdom endure")

Kushanshah - Thank you for the definitive identification.

So, 15th century, corresponding with the conquest of Constantinople & the end of the Byzantine Empire.

I presume these are fairly common?

The coppers are scarcer than the silver, especially in nice condition. Not a bad piece.
