All these marks can't be contact marks, can they? Under a loupe they appear as tiny grains of sand. Are these an indication of the die stage?

I believe that are all just from circulation.

Just marks from circulation. Now that people have access to inexpensive microscopes, there are more and more posts like this on the internet. People are just now seeing things on coins that have been too small to notice before.

circulation wear and tear. Not every coin is an error coin.

This was my initial thought. The fella I bought these from had a mint bag and tube rolled himself. The coin must have been at the intersection of two roads. It got sloshed around a lot.
