I picked up a pair of 2021 coins that arrived recently in one of the error lots I bought. I figured I would post both of them, as one is much earlier than the other, and maybe there are other stages out there other than these two. So hopefully this thread will be a good place to post any/all of these being found so we can see what stages might be out there, as well as just getting a feel for how common this die is going to be over time. 2021 Lincoln Shield cent - die crack/break progression And here is a die marker that shows up well on both coins, which can be used to check if other coins with die cracks show up that might be in the progression.

Nice! Depending on how much you paid for them, you may want to put them up before the craziness goes away. I still can't believe what it's up to. LINK https://www.ebay.com/itm/363653409440

Excellent die cracks on both of those.
But I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how the "football" shaped crack is over the 1 on the first coin but is absent on the second coin if they are the same die.
Could that die marker have been on the working hub and these are two different dies?

Petespocket idk how to quote on here but your comment the first coin has the football shape above 1. The second where it's not there anymore and the big interior die break is showing I feel that football shape of the die just came out being in a much later state from the first to second coin. You can still see the outlying a tad of the football shape in the second coin but it ofc has filled with the extra metal

That crack look like the precursor to the massive 2021 Cuds we have seen earlier this month. I think they were coming out of Virginia? http://goccf.com/t/411913

Yes, all the same die. I just thinking to try and get as many different coins posted in one thread to work out how many die stages there are. Probably should do a post with all the prior thread links on the coin as well, but Santa has been shopping and needs to wrap presents.
Oh yeah, and it is tempting to cash out right now as the price is astronomical and will come way back down. But I bought these off an error/variety dealer for an extremely affordable price and will never lose money on them so I'll just keep them for my collection. No telling how long until another pair like this might come along at an affordable price.

I'm seeing the progression now and why the crack isn't visible in the second image. That portion of the die face has pulled away from the surface of the coin, because of the break, so the "football" is no longer visible. I just found one of these in a customer wrapped roll! Debating whether to hang on to it for a while, or try and sell it.
