Hello coin community..

Hoping to get your thoughts on this 1978 Lincoln Cent. This weighs in at 2.4-2.5 grams using a decent scale. I've seen a few posts about others having the same style of odd weighing coin that should be heavier due to its copper amount. Please give me you opinion. If other photos are needed, let me know.

Looks like it could be a rolled thin planchet.

Weakness in the " E Pluribus ..." area might be thin planchet.

Certainly seems like, as noted, a rolled thin planchet error. Pretty neat error coin, congrats on the find.

The area with weakness is a common area for Struck Through Grease. There does seem to be a fairly clean strike for a planchette this underweight. It could also be acid soaked. Does it have a smaller diameter then a regular cent or is it a bit smaller?

If the diameter it is OK considering the age and the circulation, then we have 2 things:

1. Thin planchet
2. Struck Through Grease.

Nice find.
