One of my first coins and was purchased knowing that I would never figure out the Legion associated with this denarius. Was put away and after all these years, I decided to take a another look. Sure enough, with the right lighting and magnification, I think I can make out a "LEG XI" . What does everyone think ?
I posted the original pic and a new one with some evidence.

Well, the XI is definitely visible. It appears there would have been room enough for another "I" or two in the worn area before the right standard, and so it's hard to know. But I guess we would see at least some remnant of additional lettering if there had been some.maybe. I guess I do lean toward your XI interpretation.

Yes it's quite possible for at least another "I" to be squeezed in there.
