I purchased several items today for a total of $297 dollars most of it world coins, all of it was silver. The Items I am curious about I will place here. First- for $39 ( or so) haven't divided shipping yet, I got these medio Balboa coins from 1932. The mintages are about 65k. I'll list the other lots depending how interest is. I don't want to bore everyone haha.

Looks like you paid up but if you like them who's to say otherwise.

@Numister that's fine... I got a bunch of US commemorative halves and dollars at about $30 an ounce which I consider a win, these days.
The Panama coins were bought only because the mintage was so low . I figured the one on the upper left kinda paid for the whole lot on those medio Balboa coins.
But I am no numismatic expert.

I've seen shops list them around $20 a piece, but they just sit.
You've got about $24 in silver there, so I would say not a bad deal. Not a steal, but I wouldn't be kicking myself

Let's put it this way, if I were a seller I would be happy if you were my customer.

windweaver77, Make sure to flatten stapples on all 2x2 holders. When buying world coins for the silver, make sure of the silver content. Alot of them are not .999 silver. John1

Ok... so I am perfectly aware of the silver content on these coins.
The 5 francs are 90% not the 83.5% I presume you are assuming they are.
So far as the Panamanian coins, they are clearly marked .900 fine 12.5 gramos.
You're killing me guys.
Th catalog values om these coins are many many times what I actually paid.

Need to do quite a bit of accurate grading before a keyboard research for values. First, try for each equivalent coin for sale, have a look at Google Images. Then do a search on ebay, then NGC World Coin Values. From all of this work, you should get a fair idea on how to arrive at a fair value for each coin that you bought. How accurate value-wise will depend on the amount of work and enthusiasm invested. and how much you have learned from a numismatic viewpoint. And if your $297 was well invested.

Considering I am grading photos and not actual coins in my hand, I think I did well.
That's just one person's opinion.
When the coins arrive I may change my opinion.

Anyway, the rest of what I got was bullion. Some commemorative silver dollars from the 90's a german 5 mark 64% silver, a 1936 Brazil 5000 reis, three 1982 Washington commemorative halves, a 1996 s proof silver quarter, a counter stamped 1872 Canadian quarter 92.5% silver.
So mostly stacking silver, but the coins above ( with photos) I bought strictly for numismatic reasons.

Well it is always nice to stack a little silver and if you are happy with your purchases, then really that's what counts, right? Can you please post the counter-stamped Canadian quarter to this thread too? I'm interested to see whether it is just a maverick stamp or something else. Thx.

There was a 1968 25 peso in mint condition, I forgot to mention as well. Here is the Victoria quarter. And other than the two 5 franc coins and the medio Balboa coins I am right in the $25-$30 an ounce range on the silver. Though I did give a buck over what I would normally go for the proof quarter, only because I don't have a silver proof with the eagle back.

Quote: The catalog values om these coins are many many times what I actually paid Catalog values are all ballpark values. You need to check real world sale values using ebay sold values as well as auction house sold values. As long as you are happy with your purchases, that's all that matters. John1

Ok thx for posting that quarter @wind. Looks like "A.S." maverick counterstamp to me.
