The first was issued by a French Feudal state, the Principality of Chateau-Regnault, and features the portrait of Francis (François) of Bourbon-Conti (1605-1614).
The second was struck at the Dijon mint (P) by Charles de Bourbon, a Cardinal of the Catholic church. The Catholic League supported him the rightful King of France (as Charles X) after the death of Henry III in 1589.
Awesome! I'll have to figure out how to identify the mints later, I just at least wanted to verify that I was on the right track before going into that level of detail. Thanks!
