1914 D Lincoln Wheat Cent Counterfeit+ - Altered Date 1944-D + Lamination

Something for everyone here. A beat up 1944-D with a reasonably nice mint error lamination issue was gouged until it sort of looks like a 1914-D and then some additional beasting occurred (the coin was hit close to center obverse and bent concave with a final touch of cleaning of the date.

Yikes! I have seen a few of these before, but to me, a counterfeit is the whole coin is not genuine, and an alteration is only part of a coin toyed with to make it appear more valuable, but still a genuine coin underneath.

Hmmmm, interesting.

Like Dearborn, I noticed the raised lines between RTY and the back of his neck. Kind of odd.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
