Saw the coin in hand MM. Believe me, it is a no-brainer. Something that we can quickly identify as fabrication while chatting at Tim's.
Mistakes happen, we all make them, but this company was certifying errors since 2003. Anyone can identify an off centre, many (but not all) a clip - no real need for certification at that level. It is from that point on that a professional opinion is needed. Early on, I was an "expert" consulted by this company in the case of some odd twoonies. I imagine other experts in different denominations were also contacted as needed. Why this healthy practice ended?
Trust is something very fragile and almost impossible to rebuild.
