I contacted this seller yesterday by email informing them of a wrong I.D. on this coin and gave him the Haxby numbers of the DP9 #4 and the coin he is trying to sell as a #4. I never got a response from them and the coin is still up. That is why I'm posting this Buyer be ware its not a DP9 #4 coin. ebay # 255307397468

Which variety or Charlton # do you think it is, Jim? I know that the D/C usually there isn't there.

This coin is Haxby PC59-22, the DP9 #4 is Haxby PC59-46 the 9's are very similar but the #4 you have to have look at the 5 and leaf 7 the die crack for the DP #4 is on the upper part of the leaf not the bottom of the leaf.
I don't think it was added to the 65th Edition

Yes, I do as well. I have a '59 just like the questioned coin that I had initially put it down as a DP#4, but then erased the note on the holder. I just have it as a nice DP with good offset. Mine has a dc in a different spot as well like p 283. I have 4 other DP#4's and the coin in question is somewhat close, but no cigar.

I'm pretty sure Bill is correct that this coin is on page 283 in the 2011 Charlton.

I do agree with Bill and Phil310 the coin on page 282 of the 65th edition is the coin in question. I believe the coin in the book is in state 1

Yes, my coin (I have 2) just like the OP's and the one that PCGS labeled T1 I have just labeled as "p 283" that is Haxby's 22. I think that this one is almost as tough to find as a real DP-5, especially those struck early where you have well-offset underpunch on the bottom and a nice offset under the upper loop. I'm sure that the seller will argue with you. Just tell him to compare the D/C types at leaf 7 on both the good and his coin.

I think the tell tail markers are leaf 7 and the 5 on #4 is slightly doubled on the upper part of the curve on the 5 tells the story of the Variety it is?

Great news. I was contacted by the seller he sounds like a solid guy, said he would up date the e Bay listing later today. He thanked me for the alerting him and the introduction of Haxby numbers and site. I also mentioned that the coin he listed was a sought after coin just that the I.D. was wrong for coin.
Happy Hunting
