When I broke out some of mine, mostly for my 7070, I removed the labels and taped them to the inside of the rear cover of the album... Just a suggestion

Just curious, does taking them out of a graded slab maybe reduce their resale value? I've cut a couple out with my band saw but they were generic slabs, not from the major TPGs.

Possibly. Depends on the buyer, really. It might not reduce the value as much as it reduces your market of potential buyers. Buying raw has its risks, fewer when the sale can happen in person.

jbuck, thanks for the reply, makes sense it might reduce the number of buyers.

I agree with jbuck on the smaller pool of potential buyers. Not all collectors are comfortable with coin grading and so some chose to buy only graded coins as a "guarantee" of grade.

Another factor to consider is the coin's grade. In a graded holder, there is a third-party baseline for grade discussion. A buyer might think a coin has been over-graded, while a seller is convinced its under-graded, but at least there is a confirmed starting point.

With raw coins, there is often much more room for debate and when even a single point difference can amount to a significant market price differential, such discussions can be difficult to achieve agreement!

I have cracked out a few myself. I saved the label and notated where I placed the coin for future reference.

I should also add that I have no problem cracking them for an album as I have no intention of selling them.
