Found this looking for the die chip error and this popped up. I took many pics from every angle but don't have time to resize right now. I will up load more but what do y'all think?
Machine Doubling on the device, and on the field it looks like a water spot or stain/debris/hair. Nothing to see here. If it were a die issue it would be raised.
Not a very good picture, but I would guess just MD. Usually if something like this were actually a DDR we would see it at the center of the design, since the dies are hubbed from convex pieces of metal.
New pics make it much more clear and illustrative of the fact that it's just MD. Notice how the metal is pinched, flat, and shelf-like on the "doubling"? This is the classic presentation of Machine Doubling. A doubled die would be raised and would actually expand the raised design of the coin as there is extra negative space hubbed into the die itself.
