I noticed the mint schedule doesn't have birth sets anymore. That's a shame. I bought them for both of my kids, and I've bought them for friends who have had babies too. It's a nice little "year you were born" gift, and for my own kids, hopefully the start of their own love of coins.

I agree. Bought a 2021 set for my grand daughter this year. A much nicer touch than just a regular mint set. Maybe if enough people request them who knows?

I was hoping to get a set for my new grandkids expected in February and March. I guess I will just get the clad sets.

With Birth Set sales over each of the past few years hovering around 30K, it is a bit surprising that the Mint would drop the offering. Maybe the Set will become available at a later date?

According to this Coin World article: Quote:"The Birth Set and Happy Birthday Coin Set have been removed from the Mint's product portfolio in 2022," U.S. Mint spokesman Michael White told Coin World Jan. 4. "Although, there is some customer demand for these products, the demand is insufficient to justify the cost of continuing to produce these sets." I don't follow the Mint's logic, because as @commems pointed out, sales have been decent. In contrast, the holiday ornaments have sales of around 5,000-7,000 each and they're not only still making them, but they're now available for enrollment!

I've bought my grandkids silver eagles in the year they are born. Perhaps will hold their value more than a Birth Set.

I bought silver eagles for my kids too... but the birth sets are nice because you can attach a baby picture, write a nice note, etc. It's something they can keep on their shelf as opposed to the eagles that I'll keep and give them when they're much much older.

Seems like a poor decision on their part. Profit margins must have been really bad on that OGP.

I've been getting Happy Birthdays sets every year for the grandkids... (They got Birth sets too) Hoping that when they get old enough they will become interested in something other than XBox... Hate to see these go away...

It's sad to see this set go away. I have a grandchild coming this year and was looking forward to getting this set for them. The US Mint needs to wake up.

Those coins are already in other more complete sets, and one or two less offerings from the mint is not a bad thing.

I hope I don't get in trouble, but at times it seems some (NOT all) government employees who become decision makers or decision influencers would not have succeeded at that level of supervision in the private sector. See the comment by @CollegeBarbers.

I worked for the government for 30 years. Nothing surprises me. They have a different thought process.
