DDD didn't start until the single squeeze dies. It is Machine Doubling. These are seen a lot on the larger denominations. All the affected areas are on the outside/inside edges of the devices. That is where Machine Doubling happens. Note the affected areas are flat looking where the contour of the devices were, and then were pushed aside on the devices. No listings for a DDR that year. On the following one, there is a DDR: http://varietyvista.com/12%20Kenned...4DDDR001.htm But not the example is showing Machine Doubling. That is not part of the DDR, just the enlargement on the devices are the DDR with Machine Doubling. (yes Machine Doubling and hub doubling can happen. The DDR from the die, the Machine Doubling by the sloppy machine during the strike.
Note the direction of the MD. It adjusts everything in the same direction. (Except the sides of the devices that area not in that direction. Just altered by the machine.Even note the inside rim edge is showing the Machine Doubling?
