Hello,
While this isn't my first post, I am somewhat new to coin collecting. I purchased a 1971 S proof set online and I believe I may have some minor doubling ( DDO and DDR) on the PENNY and major doubling ( DDO and DDR) on the QUARTER (which I will post separately). Since this coin is still in the case, you can see some scratches on the plastic. Also, my microscope is not on the high end so these are the best pictures I could get. What I lack in quality, I tried to make up in quantity. :)

I am wondering if it is worth the money to have the 1971 S proof penny graded.

Thank you!

Exact OPPOSITE of what you should do! You have here about 50 too many photos! You lose readers if you have too many images, plus it's a waste of space.

I am seeing a great deal of glare doubling. Try defusing your lighting source. Place a piece of white paper over your lighting source, or use daylight.

Your coin would have to have a net value of about $150 to be "worth" having it graded. Check ebay's SOLD listings for similar coins for a rough idea as to value.

Yeah, way, way, way too many photos. The quality is just fine. Just post one full shot of each side of the coin as well as 1-3 images of specific areas of interest. I also am not at all convinced this is a doubled die. I see what looks like minor Machine Doubling, but nothing that screams doubled die to me or that matches any of the listings I see on Wexler's site. Can you tell us which variety you think it is? Certainly not worth grading as most companies will only attribute CPG listed varieties, which this is definitely not.

. Check these three sites and see if can find a match. Let us know what you find out. Your photos are not bad, but the glare is a problem. You need to filter your light source.

If it were a PR-68 Here is the Value:

If it were a 1966 Cameo:

No higher grade listed on site.
If it were a PR-69 Here is the value:

If it were a PR-68 Here is the value:

Chances are slim that is is a cameo or Dcam. So to spend $50 to have it graded would exceed the value of the coin? It up to you. (I wouldn't do though)
