Here is another coin I came across tonight. I have not bought it yet - learning from my last mistake - and I cannot find much on it. It is priced at about $52.
I didn't weight it or measure it, but it is probably 12-20 g and about 20 mm.
Ok, so admittedly I am poor at this . . . but I found a close 1 1/2 soldi - Milan 1250-1310. However, the figures staff and some relief detail is slighty different.
Yes, every reason. It's clearly the reproduction linked above. Note: "These reproductions are all identical and a distinctive feature are the two depressions in the upper edge of the reverse (waves above the saint's head)."
The silver wash is worn away revealing the base metal below.
It is funny how once you learn something, you see it everywhere.... Since I saw this coin I have seen at least one other 1970s reproduction. The curve at the top of the obverse is a dead giveaway...
