My great uncle was in the RCMP. I can't really find much info on sets of these coins so just thought I would post in case anyone finds it interesting :)

These aren;t technically "coins", despite being labelled such on the folders. They are privately-issued souvenir tokens.

The 1970s and 1980s were the heyday of these tourist dollars. Thousands of them were issued, from places all over Canada. There are people hat collect them, but as they aren't "real coins", their collectors are not as numerous as mainstream coin collectors. Individually, they typically sell for a few dollars each. I don't think the folder adds any extra value.

I enjoy the " Trade dollars" of Canada and U.S. This looks like a nice set. As @Sap stated, not sure the accompanying brochure would add any value, but that may depend on who issued the set. Thanks for sharing.

@Julesie4558: Your medal set appears to be in pristine, "As New" condition - something that isn't always encountered with medals like yours. Congrats!

I think a big role in preserving them has been played by the folder in which they have been stored. As a collector that appreciates original materials associated with the coins and medals that I purchase, I definitely believe the folder would add value during a sale.

I'm not saying "double the price" or anything like that, but if I were paying $16.00 for the set of eight medals ($2 each), I would gladly pay $20 for the set in a nicely preserved holder/folder like the one you are showing.

Just wanted you to have another perspective...
