I located two Missions with two different styles of possible doubling. I can see the MD at the top of the letters and was wondering how this can happen to just one letter on a coin. Since these two are very simular I thougth sharing both in one thread would be fine. Please tell me what you think. I already have a feeling what most will say. I will keep that to myself.

I believe this is still incuse Machine Doubling, but more specifically ejection doubling. During ejection from the striking chamber the coin hit the die again at an angle so only a little sliver of the coin made direct contact. Because of the shape of the N and the lack of any other letters to the right of the S it only shows on the S.

Although on the second quarter it does looks like there is a little doubling to the right of the upper serif of the N, that one rotated slightly during ejection so you can actually see it on that one.

I will go to ejection doubling. Also the N show a little bit. Normally it is + or - max 2 deg.(24h -2min left or +2 min right) this it is minus. Nice find.
