I just wanted to add thank you and I bow down to all you coin experts that are willing and happy to help a ding ding like me. I really didn't realize how intricate coin collecting is. It's really hard but I am eager to learn. Back to business.
So I found this 1929 S penny that weights 2.7 grams what does it all mean?

Looks like the outside edge was removed off the coin. It looks irregular in shape, not the way the outside edges of the coin should look like. The removal of this lightened the coin. So you have a damaged coin, that is not just a Wheat cent.

Seems like the weight loss is primarily due to wear. May have been an underweight planchet to begin with.
