This coin was in such nice condition and had the pre Cud so I picked it up for $6.53 including shipping. The down side of pre Cuds on top grade coins is that they aren't very showy. The plus side is that you really get to see the crack. The reverse is true for circulated brown coins. 1940-S Lincoln Wheat cent die event - RCD-1C-1940S-12R

There might be a listing for this on in later die state? Looks like a slight Retained Cud starting on this on.

Thanks folks! VW, I've seen a lot of top BU coins with full Cuds on them. They show a whole lot better than the pre Cuds do. And Coop, um, what? I gave the full listing attribution for the pre Cud in the original post.

The only die cracks on the obverse are two short, minor cracks around the lower lapel. The mark through TRUST is a stain, although there are some minor rim Cuds in that area but not significant enough for a listing.
