Please accept my apologies for the quality of photo... it's actually all I can offer at this stage, as this is not my coin. A dear friends mum recently passed away and she found this in a random stash of coins.

The information I been able to ascertain is:

It's a penny (year unknown)
Bronze in colour (photo was with a flash which distorts this)
Approx 3cm in diameter
Approx 1.5mm rim
Approx 9.2grams in weight

A local coin specialist was unable to value due to the rarity factor, however did ask her what she would sell it to him for (lol).. my very wise friend is holding for now! As with anything of this rare nature, it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay. We are very curious to hear any comments or opinions on value.

Apart from the obvious Brockage error, there seems to be a Mis-strike.

There have been a few sales of these at Nobles.
Go to the Nobles archive search and search for "brockage".
This will provide some idea of the value.

As to whether its genuine, we would need better pics.

The obverse looks okay to me but I'm not sure how to tell if these are real.
Brockages are pretty rare though.
