What is this crack in forehead and is there doubling or is that just oozy on my dates?

IMO. the date seem to be MD. The scull seem to be a Die crack and also seem to be between U and N an small Die crack. Is what I see from your photos. Unenabled to magnify.

I think the scratch on the forehead is from when it was crimped in the roll.

Cujohn may be correct with the forehead mark. Can you tell us if the mark on the forehead is raised or incused

I agree that the linear mark on George's head looks like a scratch/damage, but a better close-up would help to confirm. This is the best that I can do with the supplied pic:
