HI and thanks in advance for help and patience I never had spent any real effort looking at a bag of steel pennies I accumulated. Now I am seeing things but have some Q's. This is where my rose-colored glasses fail me and I usually get crashed back to earth. I have others that look chrome painted. I'll post one of those. I think its one coin per thread. Is this a specific variety? Where is the best online resource for the 43's? I don't wat to waste your time if I need to study but I' still guessing 2 years into it all....

Plated or not, it's a beauty. Is that the real color?

I'd like to see them. I'm not a moderator so I guess you need one thread per.

All look fine to me. A lot of these have been re-plated but that makes more of a mirror-like finish.
1943's are very common and even only worth a few bucks in full mint state condition. They were widely hoarded so they're abundant, cheap and really nothing special other than their story.

My camera is goofing this I think. This coin does not look reprocessed. Not at all. I have a set of those and will post one I have a q on soon. This coin in satiny and subtle. I am usually wrong but this looks original. Is there DDO lettering?

I don't see any hub doubling. It's a later die state and the mints struggled with the mottos near the rim because steel is difficult to coin. It looks normal.

It is a very nice looking coin. I look forward to seeing more of your coins.
The reason for only one coin per topic is for ease of talking about them and not confusing one for another or having to list them (1, 2, 3.. etc) to answer any questions.

Quote: does it sell without grading or is it junk? You can find a lot of uncertified steel cents in uncirculated condition on ebay for a few dollars or less, so it's not junk but not worth a lot. I think yours is a nice looking example and doesn't appear to be reprocessed. Greysheet for a certified 1943 in MS66 is only about $40 and drops quickly in MS grades below that, so generally not worth the expense of getting certified.
