I would not, but they are your coins. That said, I would heavily research the pros and cons here before you make a decision.

so what if I set them free from there case and use acetone, will this clean them up?
As far as I know, acetone will have no affect on the haze; but I have never tried it on mine, so I would wait for more opinions on this.

BTW, all of mine are free from their original packaging and stored in a Dansco album, hazy film and all.

I had three of the brown Ike's that had extensive hazing on them...after breaking them out, I sprayed them with an acetone spray and them rinsed with warm water..pat to dry...they came out excellent and I can see no damage under a 30 power scope....maybe I got lucky, I make no claims...but it worked for me....

My local coin shop has three silver ikes in its "half-off" bin. Two of the proofs for $5.00 each and the non-proof for $4.50. I was wondering if I should have bought them to try to make a buck or two when silver rose again but since they where out of the package and not in GEM condition....I passed.

I dunno. Red Book, which is knocked as inflated, would have these at about 1/2 off.

And given that Deleted004 has silver IKEs at $3.84, I'd say if you happen back to nab them.

"And given that Deleted004 has silver IKEs at $3.84,"

Do you know if Deleted004 still has the Ikes available?
