Here's a coin I'm following on ebay - photos are screenshots from the listing. A little weakness through the 1874 but otherwise an attractive coin. I'm thinking this is VF20-30 or thereabouts. I don't see anything that indicates it's been messed with. Any thoughts coin sages?

I'd say VF-20 cleaned/dipped

VF20
Distracting rim ding at G in REGINA

"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
-from PCGS website
Not a details coin, I don't think it coin has been cleaned in such a manner as to devalue it although it certainly has been dipped.

Good point on the rim ding. Agreed about the dipped issue.

Based on US grading standards I'll agree with the VF-20.
I don't agree with the cleaned/dipped.

But based on what I know about Canadian grading standards, IMO they'd grade it F-12.

Beautiful coin.

I'd say VF-30 with no evidence of dipping. This coin is in superb condition with very little wear. It has been protected well from the elements and only saw circulation for a short while over 100 years ago.

This coin is way above a F grade.

Well, I bought it. $130...we shall see when I have it in hand. It's somewhere between F15 and VF30 meaning that I either got patently ripped off or the deal of the century. Sounds about par for the course....

Min VF 20, I'd say VF30. Attractive coin.
