So I was looking at this Morgan and wondered if it will upgrade to next level if it would be conserved and spots removed...

What do you think it's graded now?

The coin is not valuable enough to justify the investment IMO. Looks like MS64-MS65 range.

I think this looks really good, I'll give it an MS-65, possibly 66. Not sure if it can upgrade with the spots removed.

The truthful answer is ... I don't know, so please try it and tell us the result.

I sent in coins asking for conservation for the first time in October to NGC and PCGS. I still don't have them back. None of them were morgans.

decent strike for the 85(O). looks like all the luster is there and the cheek looks pretty good. I will always drop the grade by one when assessing by trueview. I dont think conservation will fix the eye appeal but I'm not well versed in the process and what can be accomplished. with the neck abrasions I would put the coin in MS64+ box if it can be conserved otherwise MS63+ for me the cost of grading and conservation would not be worth it. even if its fully restored it would not go higher than MS65 with a retail value of about $250

Given conservation and additional grading fees, doesn't sound like much sure upside here.

So the coin is graded MS66 and due to it's looks is priced like a nice MS65.

As is it's not attractive and I decided to pass but was wondering if conservation would have fixed the issues and possibly upgrade...

there is no way imo this coin would upgrade if conserved from a 66. leave her be.
