Found it digging around old wheat rolls. Check out the line that's underneath the entire design on the back.

What do the experts think this is? Looks too uniform to be a die gouge or split die. Struck in metal perhaps? Agree, a very nice coin!

Now that is very interesting. Devices/details appear to 'floating' above the feature in question. Is the feature raised? Could be an issue with the die.

Can't be a split die, the device is not separated, I think it is a rather large gouge on the die. It appears to be the same thickness of the coin itself.

Wow, that's cool. It has to be defective planchet, the devices appear fully struck.

Very interesting! Will be anxiously awaiting other thoughts on this, as I have no clue.

Looks like it was reprocessed. So it may have had something on the coin before it was re coated? If so it is just a Wheat cent now. (Note on the rims, you can see where the coating has come off of the rim areas)

Doesn't look reprocessed to me. Looks like the finale roller for the planchet was damaged leaving a ridge.

Yes I will get a picture of the one cent when I get home, interesting to hear everyone's input. Wish I had more info it's a first for me and I can't seem to find anything similar anywhere.
