"Looks too good to be true" also.....[:0] I cannot get it over in my mind why this seller would list such a rare coin and hope to sell it on ebay when he could easily sell it through any of the auctions organised by eatablished dealers.

I'm a little concerned about his 98.0% private feedback rating also. I looked at his recent completed auctions and most of what he sells is cars, though he did have a 1913 One Pound note (with a free Nokia phone thrown in?)
He is currently selling time-share plans.
I wouldn't touch anything this seller had with a 10-foot pole! [:0]

Very interesting seller.....besides selling rare to very rare coins, he also sells used cars.
Besides the Adelaide Pound he has a 1923 half penny listed as well (claimed to be EF with a CV of AUD19,500).
Looking through his listings, private feedbacks and private listings and negs....I would say...."Run" .

well I've dealt with this seller before and I must admit, he is a bit dodgy...goes around buying the left over scraps from public auctions and then marking up the grading and putting it on ebay hoping for a big profit. He also does private auction listings so he can bump up prices to what he likes. I would follow CCF mom's advice and keep away from this seller. For your interest, that coin listed as aUNC was actually sold as a gVF for AUD$6250 from a recent public auction.....courtesy of "wwwww" from the Aussie coin forum. Here's the link to that coin... http://www.downies.com/aca/catalogu...gue_042.html

one thing I have learnt on ebay is that if there is even a remote shred of doubt about a seller LET IT GO

I have seen this seller sell 1930 penny for $20000 He has bought from me but I cant downgrade this person as hes a decent seller. IF I had an item like this I would cosign it in a public Auction

This Adelaide pound was the one recently sold at Australian Coin Auctions, ex-mount graded gVF obverse, fine reverse (due to damage from the mount).
It is definitely not about unc, but if you want to throw your money away bid on it.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but I would never buy from him. 5 negatives and 2 neutrals in the last year and private feedback. What's he hiding?

Tony, I'm curious what you base this opinion upon. His feedback and misrepresentation of a coin purchased through Downies would be enough to keep me from recommending him. What exactly is your experience with him?

Im not praising this seller as I do not know him. I have also had some expert opinion to assure a refund on these items that they are geniune. My self as a player on ebay I would be very careful on what I will be buying paying $1000s on an item. I only bid when items are truly geniune and there from a reutable seller. Someone hiding his feedback there is a ? mark there. I would rather go to a public Auction and at least If there is something wrong you can get your money back. As on ebay I would not spend thousands on an item unless its from a dealer at least the odds are slim for being rorted. In general I would rather pay the excess in a pulic Auction and know what I will be getting
