It almost looks like the Arabian version of play money, since I have one similar myself. I don't see a date with this one .

Specifically, with that hole, it's probably a so-called "belly dancer coin" - an imitation (of Ottoman coinage) made for use in fancy-looking jewelry.

I do - upside down, just upwards of center on the second pic, the bit that looks like a slightly slanted >>>. Of course it's not an actual date but just an imitation.

Incidentally, while I'm not 100% sure what exactly it imitates, looking it up on Numista, I highly suspect it's trying to imitate a gold coin of Mahmud II from the 1830s - either this, this, or this, depending on the size.

Correct; it's a "jewellery imitation" of an Ottoman-era gold coin.
