I saw this coin for sale on ebay. Does anyone know if this is a defective planchet? If so, do you think it would straight grade at PCGS?
Thanks in advance

It is a real error, but as for value, no clue from me. I'd not have it graded and slabbed. The error is obvious and it takes a $50 hit from PCGS, that you won't get back when you sell the coin.

Doesn't error-ref.com call this a Blowhole defective planchet? This is a nice error, and I would lean maybe on getting it slabbed as such .

WOW! nice busted up Planchet! If it were mine, I would send it in.
For comparison:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/234307627975
that one is selling for $400.00.. Now, that being said - what will it actually sell for?

Very cool, but I wouldn't spend the money grading it. Just me.

Thanks all. The seller is asking $150 or best offer and I was looking at it as a possible opportunity to get graded and resell for a profit. I think that it is too risky.

Is nice, but before buy I will do a test of the place. An simple plasma pen can do something like this. We see some similar, not exact this case.
