IS it really copper color. Take an image of the 1964 cent to see the color. To me it doesn't look right.

But he didn't say it was legit. Note the "if" words in his post.

Quote: But he didn't say it was legit. Note the "if" words in his post. Coop, Mikes initial reply stated this is 'clearly an off metal error.'

Thank you to all who commented. I appreciate your wisdom and your advice. I intend to get a better scale and be more careful when handling the coin. Hopefully, we'll find that this coin turns out to be a blessing for my friend.

This it is a coin replica. Just look at the letters. I will not spend the time with to calculate the probability of the metal, just a replica.

Mikes initial reply stated this is 'clearly an off metal error.' He did not either. he said IF He did though? He made two comments. First it 'it is clearly an off metal error'. Second, 'If this proves to be a nickel struck on a cent blank'. He was said he is unsure of it being either struck on a cent blank or an orphan off-metal error, but he said it's clearly an off-metal error. I agree with Mike, this is clearly on off-metal error. Quote: This it is a coin replica. Just look at the letter. What? No. The letters are a good clue to this being genuine. The planchet being thin and underweight for the nickel dies leads to the letters not being fully struck up, they're thin and wiry. That isn't something you can just replicate.

Congrats on the off metal error coin.
The only thing I'll add concerning the value is that those approximate values mentioned are for slabbed coins in uncirculated condition. A raw circulated example would probably be 1/3 to 1/2 those values.
