Could this possibly be a 1942 Lincoln Wheat cent struck on a Ecuador centavos planchet? it weighs 2.8 grams and doesn't shine at all. The 1942 cent is in the middle of the other 6 cents in my picture. Wanted you to see the color compared to other Lincoln cents. Thank you for your help in advance.

I'm not arguing that it doesn't have environmental damage. Obviously this coin has seen better days. But I have a lot of Lincoln cents. I have looked through thousands of Lincoln cents And this one is definitely different than any Lincoln I have seen.

@sc, I hear what you are saying about this one being different from other cents you have seen, but I would go with the assumption of chemical/environmental exposure.

If you want to really chase this down, you should consider XRF or other nondestructive elemental analysis.

I guess I can check the local universities to see if they do that kind of thing.

This is simply a badly corroded cent. The missing mass is due to the corrosion.
